16/10/18Upwaltham Barns Summer Wedding

Becca and Andrew at Upwaltham Barns
18 months in the planning, this wedding was everything Becca and Andrew dreamed of.
This year marked the 18th anniversary of my first ever wedding at Upwaltham Barns – I photographed the wedding of Kate, part of the NIbbles2Nosh team there in the year 2000 – so I was very excited to be returning again for a day with so many elements and phases to capture. Producing a set of pictures that tells the story of the day is a huge part of what I offer, but I also want to capture magical moments whenever they occur and the bride and groom looking fabulous in different locations.
Even though you are technically in one location a wedding at Upwaltham Barns has lots of different backdrops, from Jasmine Cottage getting ready, the Bride’s walk through the gardens, the Bride’s entrance and the Ceremony in the East Barn, leaving the Barn and the reception in the Courtyard, the chance to photograph in and around the buildings and go up the hill onto the Downs behind the venue, before returning for the Wedding Breakfast in the South Barn. I hope the selection in this post gives a flavour of all the possibilities a wedding at Upwaltham Barns has to offer.
From the moment you arrived you were calm and made us all feel at ease, even my mum who hates her picture being taken!
A very big thank you to Becca and Andrew, and their families for making me so welcome on the day – and for their fabulous feedback:
“Oh Henry, I don’t even know where to start. From the moment you arrived you were calm and made us all feel at ease, even my mum who hates her picture being taken!
Thank you for being so prepared and professional and also for listening to what we wanted – I didn’t realise that hill was quite as steep but it was definitely worth the climb! You were truly amazing and the pictures … are simply breathtaking – they’ve brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you once again, I am so glad we chose you and will be recommending you to anyone who needs a photographer.”
That’s just what I want to hear, a very big thank you to you both!
