Here’s a wonderful reminder of the great summer we had – Philippa and Ash had glorious blue skies for their wedding day back in August. I have to admit as a photographer I love being able to show a pure blue sky as a background.
There’s a huge range of styles in these pictures – reportage and captured moments, classically framed elegance, out and out ‘fun’ pictures in the speeches and dancing, together with beautiful and atmospheric black-and-white pictures. This year I have noticed more and more of my clients opt for a blend of styles during the day.

After the ceremony at the very beautiful St.Bartholomew’s Church in Haslemere, we moved on to Rumbolds Farm for the reception. Rumbolds Farm is the home of the Robertson family, near Plaistow and Petworth in West Sussex and I was lucky enough to be asked to photograph Amelia Robertson’s wedding a few years ago.
As well as a gorgeous cottage for the bride to get ready in it also offers camping for guests before and after the wedding, a facility that has endeared it to many of the brides and grooms I have photographed there! The group photo on the lawn also shows the lake beyond – it’s a very beautiful and tranquil place to be on a summer’s day and a fabulous backdrop for a wedding.
