02/03/14Ramster Wedding Photos – Emily & Neil

Emily and Neil, Rudgwick and Ramster, Spring last year
This post has been prompted by the recent weather pattern! In the world of wedding photography there’s one question everyone hides from, the unmentionable elephant in the room – what if it rains?
There are those who believe you can think their day sunny and just ignore this question – if you don’t envisage it it won’t and can’t happen. But actually at the back of most of my clients’ minds lurks this unasked question – and this post, with thanks to Emily and Neil, provides the answer. Because this was a wonderful and happy day which, as the pictures show, everyone present hugely enjoyed.
Even though it was one of those days when the rain never seems to stop Emily and Neil are smiling throughout.
Even though it was one of those days when the rain never seems to stop Emily and Neil are smiling throughout. Yes, arriving and leaving the church were more difficult, but what’s interesting is how much of the day remains unchanged – and how important it is to have a venue like Ramster where even if the weather is not ideal there’s still plenty of room.
Unusually I’ve included a group shot from Ramster’s Brick Hall for this reason – being able to go to a different location away from the other guests that has plenty of light even on an overcast day is simply invaluable.
Perhaps the most important lesson of all is not to let it get you down – because even in the most difficult moments, as in the shot with the umbrellas, Emily and Neil are smiling and ultimately it’s this that makes the picture.
Thank you both for a brilliant day.
