Laura and Paul at Ramster in October.
Sometimes you can have it all and Laura and Paul certainly did – October can be a brilliant time of year to get married, with the colours of Autumn, yet warm enough to be outside and still with plenty of daylight before the hour changes at the end of the month. I remember an October wedding at Ramster not long ago when the temperature was 80 degrees.

The colours of Autumn are most definitely here in the shots from Ramster’s Acer Grove, gorgeous yellows and reds, yet there’s also the sense – very appropriately for a Festival themed wedding – of the party going on into the evening. I have included some shots from the courtyard in the fading light to show just how atmospheric Ramster can be in the evening. Although I must have photographed over100 weddings at Ramster I always seem to find something new at every wedding I photograph.
The Great Drawing Room at Ramster can be set up in two ways, either with a conventional aisle or as here with a horseshoe shape and this selection of pictures shows just why some people choose this set up – I’m always happy to illustrate the potential differences to anyone getting married here, so just get in touch if I can help. The Festival theme continued down to the choice of footwear for a quick visit to the gardens – actually I think I’d advise back up footwear for any time of year.
I love the great dancing pictures here – but I can’t claim all the credit, as the lighting helped enormously, lighting over which Ramster’s resident dj Mark from thedj.co.uk takes enormous trouble. Look out for an upcoming post on the difference a dj makes, but you can see here just how important the lights are – and I was delighted to see Paul fully airborne in one of the shots.
Thank you to Mark for his lights, to Jacaranda catering for looking after everyone so well, to Carrie Macey from The Topiary Tree, www.topiary-tree.co.uk, for the fabulous flowers, and to Mel from www.thecakerevolution.co.uk for the cake and the VW camper van . But above all thank you to Paul and Laura for a memorable day, I enjoyed every minute.
