15/03/16North Marden Wedding Photography – Lydia & Matt

Lydia and Matt’s Off Grid Wedding in North Marden nr. Chichester, West Sussex on December 23rd.
All weddings are different – and that’s what makes being a wedding photographer so wonderful.
Lydia and Matt’s wedding was brilliantly different and my Facebook post about the wedding has been one of the most popular ever, so I thought I’d show a wider range of pictures and give a fuller report from the day here on the blog.
St Mary’s, North Marden, is a tiny 12th century church at the end of a lane in the Sussex countryside. It is also off grid, with no water or electricity – George Clarke and Kevin McCloud would have been proud of us – and the 23rd of December is pretty much the shortest day of the year.
Matt and I just wanted to thank you for the fantastic photos of our wedding. They’ve come out so well despite it being one of the most difficult weddings you’ve ever done!
My brief was to be unnoticeable and unobtrusive, with a request for no flash at all during the service. The light levels were so low that technically this was the hardest wedding I have ever photographed (the picture of the church shows the size of the windows), but everyone loves the results, especially Lydia and Matt:
“Matt and I just wanted to thank you for the fantastic photos of our wedding. They’ve come out so well despite it being one of the most difficult weddings you’ve ever done! The wedding was just as we wanted – thank you for listening to all of our requests and being as subtle as possible – we barely knew you were there”, which is just what I always want to hear.
