Laura and Henry’s Marquee Wedding near Midhurst.
Having a marquee in the garden at home as the location for your wedding reception is always pretty special, but when you can walk to church from home and come back through a gate in your garden that’s truly wonderful. Both walks as here can provide some great natural and spontaneous images of not only the Bride and Groom but guests as well.

The marquee here looks gorgeous and shows how attractive a marquee wedding can be – I’ve included a number of pictures to show how beautiful it looked set up, taken care of by Jules and her team from Jacaranda Catering and with flowers by This Floral Life. By being in the garden at home the whole day ended up with a very relaxed feel to it, not least because the children who were there were able to play safely under the watchful eyes of their parents.
As I have mentioned before in other posts, I’m often asked by slightly nervous brides and grooms about the light inside the marquee at a marquee wedding and how it will look in the pictures. The shots here should be reassuring – Laura and Henry look beautiful inside and outside the marquee – and in colour and in black-and-white.
A very big thank you to all who made this such a memorable day – I have included a picture of Trish the supremely helpful vicar who not only rescued the bouquet at the end of the service but also allowed me to photograph to one side in the service, out of sight, to get the ceremony pictures. Thank you all.
