01/06/17London Wedding Photography – CM & Owen

CM and Owen at St. Bartholomew The Great in Smithfield and The English Speaking Union in Mayfair in September.
Big London churches have a very special atmosphere – I have photographed at St. Paul’s Cathedral, St.Clement Danes, Temple Church, Ealing Abbey, and Grosvenor Chapel in the past, but this was my first visit to St.Barts.
If it looks familiar that’s because it has featured in many films – Four Weddings and a Funeral, Testament of Youth and The Other Boleyn Girl to name just a few. It has an extraordinary atmosphere all its own due to the quality of the light flooding in from its high windows, as shown the pictures I have selected – the sense of scale is amazing.

The Bride got ready in the amazingly helpful Chesterfield Hotel in Mayfair, next door to the English Speaking Union where the reception would be later in the day, whilst the Groom and his team had lunch together in the City near St. Bartholomew’s. The weather wasn’t 100% on our side, but it didn’t spoil the happiness of the day which as you can see spills out into every picture.
The English Speaking Union has a charm all its own – as well as a very beautiful staircase, great for showing off the Bride’s dress and also for a group shot of everybody. I love the personalised dance floor here – as well as CM and Owen’s stunning moves which resulted in some great dance pictures!
