23/07/15Clandon Park March Wedding

Sophia and Gavin at Clandon Park in March
This is a strange post to write – I had the most wonderful and happy day with Sophia and Gavin at Clandon. Events not long afterwards made it have an added dimension.
Because they live outside the UK at the moment Sophia had arranged everything via my site and email and so I ended up meeting her for the first time on the morning of her wedding, but through emails and phone calls we had established just what Sophia was after.
The pictures are OUTSTANDING!
Completely against the forecast the sun shone, the skies were blue and we all had a brilliant time. Sophia knew this year marked the 20th anniversary of my first wedding at Clandon and it was wonderful to be back somewhere I have photographed so often.
Sophia and Gavin loved the pictures:
“The pictures are OUTSTANDING! Everyone that has seen them have all commented on how natural your photography is and how it truly reflects the beauty of the day. Gavin and I have now officially become ‘wedding recruiters’ encouraging our friends to get hitched so we can send them your way :-)”
Thank you both, I look forward to seeing you again very soon.
What none of us knew was that not long afterwards Clandon would go up in flames and suffer so much damage, so in my selection I’ve included some of the wonders of that beautiful house to show what was lost, knowing that it may be many years before I photograph there again.
And I’ve tried to find a positive note – this was my first wedding working with a drone (a hair raising experience when it’s right above you!), so I’ve included a ‘bride and groom with drone’ shot.
I know Sophia and Gavin would join with me in sending our very best to Phil, Susie and everyone at Clandon involved in wedding team and the rebuild process – you are greatly missed.
