There’s nothing quite like having your reception in your own garden – the sense of being at home is hard to beat.
For me this was a very happy return – I had photographed Kate’s sister’s wedding at Churt with a reception in the same garden an unbelievable10 years ago. It was wonderful too to see Sophie and Nick whose wedding I photographed in 2014 and Charlotte and Ross whose wedding I photographed last summer.

Although the weather wasn’t always helpful the marquee was a stunning backdrop – a tree inside the marquee is always helpful – and these pictures are full of the happiness that comes from an amazing day massively enjoyed by all.
The dancing pictures are a particular favourite – a new pattern has emerged this year with clients wanting me to stay on beyond the first dance to capture more of the atmosphere of the evening.
Thank you to Kate and Jon for a fabulous day – and for braving the outdoors in mixed conditions, the pictures in the darkness are very evocative.
