Edie and Chris at Brighton College in July
Time for something of a catch up… and a chance to look back on some fabulous sunny days this summer, none more so than Edie and Chris’s wedding at Brighton College in July. My brief from Edie and Chris was for light and airy pictures that naturally captured the happiness of the day and so I both took and edited the pictures with that in mind.
The result speaks for itself in many ways, but I think it’s worth pointing out that to really capture natural pictures you have to blend in as much as possible – my favourite feedback comment that I often hear is ‘we thought you were a guest’. The traditional bossy photographer would destroy the atmosphere in an instant.
All my research showed that the classic Brighton College shots made use of the vantage point in the library – it does produce a characteristic hallmark result as you can see, but I also wanted to focus on the fact that this was very much Edie and Chris’s idea of the unique wedding day they would like and not something off a conveyor belt. The ceremony was of their own devising and the celebrant was a friend.
The result was a unique day that focused on people and I wanted the photographs to echo that – I love the genuine emotion in these pictures…
The result was a unique day that focused on people and I wanted the photographs to echo that – I love the genuine emotion in these pictures and I’m pleased above all that for Edie and Chris these are ’just as we had hoped’. I can’t say often enough that every set of pictures I produce is different and individually adapted to the requirements of those involved – these pictures are a prime example of that..
