Sarah and Tristan at Amberley Castle in December
Weddings in December are inescapably linked to Christmas – think warm interiors and sparkling Christmas trees, but getting outside …even if it’s raining for most of the day.
These pictures from Sarah and Tristan’s memorable day at Amberley Castle show the best of both worlds – there’s bucketloads of atmosphere from the inside of the castle, with its fabulous staircase, knights in shining armour and spectacular dining room. But the rain let up just enough for a very quick confetti shot in the shelter of the portcullis and for a very, very quick group shot – just enough to show off the flames outside Castle entrance.
Constant vigilance is essential for any wedding photographer and especially so in winter – through minute by minute checking I was able to spot a brief dry window in the weather and in it we were able to get some fantastic atmospheric pictures of Sarah and Tristan with Amberley Castle in the background, hugely helped I have to say by over 20 years experience of photographing at Amberley Castle.
It was a wonderful day and we were thrilled to have you as our photographer. The devotion to your craft was clearly evident and you were so friendly and nice to have around
But above all what I like here are the “captured moments”, the reportage pictures of guests caught unaware and without flash – and the powerful and evocative dance pictures of Sarah and Tristan and Sarah and her father. These are truly special “once in a lifetime moments” that some up what photography is all about for me. And I’m also delighted with Sarah and Tristan’s feedback:
“It was a wonderful day and we were thrilled to have you as our photographer. The devotion to your craft was clearly evident and you were so friendly and nice to have around, something that was reflected in the comments from our family and guests. We loved the way you caught moments throughout the day and dealt with the rather challenging weather conditions.”
