Upwaltham Barns
This is very much a family run business and Tim and Nicola are involved with every wedding.
Upwaltham is between Petworth and Chichester and I first photographed at there in 2000 when Tim's sister Kate got married. Since then it has just got better and better, with a separate suite of rooms for the bride and her entourage to get ready in, a beautifully light barn for the ceremony and a totally separate barn for the Wedding Breakfast.
With plenty of room to spread out and great sense of seclusion I can see why it's hugely popular.
The gardens here are lovely - yes, the downs in the background are a fine backdrop, but there's really attractive planting all around the venue which is great for photographs and I really like the original cottage garden as a place for any family shots or somewhere for the bride and groom to escape to on their own. With plenty of room to spread out and great sense of seclusion I can see why it's hugely popular.
